ABOUT HOW WE PACK ORDERS TO SHIP

We take packing very seriously. We also understand everyone wants the best price on shipping. 
Retro Game Cave is always working  on new ways to reduce shipping costs and improve the effectiveness of packing.   We always pack with care.  

Through careful packing and taking the extra time, shipping costs can remain low while keeping your items safe in travel. In the coming year, we plan to introduce new methods designed to reduce shipping costs while improving quality of shipping containers.

All complete video games are shipped in a sturdy box. Never a bubble mailer.

All consoles ship in sturdy heavy duty boxes with extra protection.

All Turbo Express repairs are packed in sturdy boxes and padding and ship via Priority Mail. 

If your order exceeds 16 ounces or if its a collector's video game, we will ship in a box.


Rest assured items will never arrive without proper packing. We've seen this from other sellers and to be honest, its just plain careless. In the coming year, we plan to post some photos of our packing so you can see what to expect. As we find new and better ways to pack your items we will share that too. 

About flat rate priority boxes. They have their place, but in most cases, packing based on weight is a better deal.  This is why every order is evaluated and shipped by weight and shipping costs are fine tuned to keep the cost as low as possible without risking your items in shipment.   


About expensive games, controllers and consoles.  These items are considered fragile and precious. Even a tiny amount of squeezing or denting in shipping is not acceptable.  This is why all collector grade games, controllers and consoles are shipped the with highest level of packing.   If your item is of a collectible nature, you can expect the highest level shipping container.  

Examples: 
All Sega Saturn games in a USA Saturn case are shipped in a box with padding.
All controllers in retail boxes are packed in a padded shipping box to preserve the condition of the retail box.
